Prices rising uncontrollably

Ilustracija

The wave of price increases in Montenegro continues and has long been seriously endangering the living standard of citizens. For example, 100g of coffee now costs as much as €1.09. If we add to this that milk will become more expensive, and that a new meat increase has already been announced, along with all previous prices of oil, flour, sugar and many other foodstuffs, then today the citizens of Montenegro are surviving one of the strongest blows to their standard and many have been brought to the brink of existence. The icing on the cake of price torture are fuel prices that are recording their fifteen-day records.

The government and line ministries are silent, turning a blind eye to all this, not saying a word. Even the ruling majority is silent and does not react. No solution to the crisis. Some would say – “it’s OK, while it’s over the backs of those who elected them”.

And while they are all silent, the question that citizens ask themselves every day is: Can all this be survived? Is only life cheap in Montenegro today?
