During his visit to Berane, Prince Nikola met with the Mayor, Dragoslav Scekic, to discuss future cooperation and a common vision for the development of Berane.
“Our intention was that the Foundation Petrovic-Njegos opens its cooperation with the local government by focusing its attention on the youngest, thus donating 1.000 euros to Berane kindergarten for programs which they will propose on their own and implement in cooperation with local authorities. The same amount of money was allocated for the Day Centre and the house of Duke Gavro Vukovic”, said Prince Nikola.
He added that these are only initial projects in which the Foundation, as many times before, unified solidarity and the preservation of cultural heritage.
“We planted a tree in Berane and next year we will see whether it branched out”, he said.
President of the Municipality of Berane, Dragoslav Scekic, said that the visit of Prince Nikola represents beginning of cooperation that will result in a number of projects contributing to meeting the specific needs of the citizens of Berane.
“Foundation Petrovic Njegoš has shown with these donations how one ruling family should treat citizens, not only of Berane but of the entire Montenegro”, said Scekic.
Upon visiting Berane, Prince Nikola Petrovic also met with President of the local assembly, Goran Kiković, and other representatives of political life in Berane.
