Stefan Cernetic who, according to Italian media, was arrested three days ago due to false identification, false identity and falsified documents, has vehemently denied such claims. He admitted to having been sued, but he is convinced the court would rule in his favor “because he hasn’t done anything wrong”.
In an exclusive interview for CdM, Cernetic, who presented himself as a successor to the dynasty of Crnojevici and Crown Prince of Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia, said that there is a larger conspiracy against him, involving “fake news” media, Montenegrin government and mafia.
„I am not arrested. I do not know who is spreading false information, but I do government and the media are involved. I do not know why they work against me, because in my opinion, Montenegro is lucky to have a representative such as myself. My family has a long history”, Cernetic.
Initiative for indication of Cernetic came from the top of Italian government – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that presented the photograph of the prince to all units of national police, with an explanation that he falsely identifies as a diplomatic representative of Montenegrin embassy in Italy thus enjoying privileges based on Vienna Convention from 1961.
Cernetic told us he was currently spending some time in Rome on a business, and that he traveled by train. He said he wasn’t rich – he finances his trips from his own pocket. I only wanted wanted to be everyone’s friend, Cernetic said.
Although he claims not to be rich – the prince has three houses, one in Belgrade, Athens and Monte Carlo.
Investigation into Cernetic started in August last year, after his visit to Brindisi and the surroundings.
On that occasion, Cernetic met with several representatives of the local administration, and he arrived to his meetings with a Mercedes that flung Montenegrin flags and had false diplomatic marks.
Although it is clear that these are flags of Montenegro, Cernetic claims they are flags of Crnojevici dynasty.
“Montenegro is a young republic, and my family has existed for centuries”, prince is clear.
Cernetic offered cooperation to many ambassadors, mayors and celebrities. Dire Straits as well as Novak Djokovic met with the prince. Cernetic knighted actress Pamela Anderson as the Grand Dame of Montenegro.
“Pamela came to me for free. We had a charity dinner with VIPs”, Cernetic said.
Cernetic confirmed that Emir Kusturica has contacted him to make a movie about his life.
“It’s true. I am looking forward to our meeting”, the prince concludes.
