Prisoners announce going on hunger strike and refusing to on trials

UIKS

Prisoners of the Institute for Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions have announced a protest on 9 April due to bad living conditions in that institution. On that day, from 3 p.m. prisoners are going to refuse meals and going on trials.

In a letter submitted to Pobjeda daily, they demand top officials of the justice system – the president of Montenegro or prime minister, the justice minister, the defender of human rights and freedoms and the president of the Supreme Court of Montenegro – to visit them prior to the protest in order to solve this urgent problem.

The letter says they’re going to present the details and requests to all of them once they meet, adding that they can’t live like that anymore!

The prisoners also call on their lawyers, employees of the Institute, their families, friends and NGOs to back them if the above-mentioned people don’t do it.
