Thousand Plus is a project that enables citizens to buy apartments in lower prices, and is set to begin by the end of the year, it was said from the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism. They said they expect that apartments in old buildings, which will be offered now in the third phase of the project, will increase the competitiveness of prices.
General director of Directorate for Development of Housing Marko Canovic said that they will strive to offer various and affordable apartments with favourable credits.
“The board is preparing a new platform that will set a base for new public calls for construction companies, banks and citizens, and that will define favorable conditions in the interest of Montenegrin citizens”, Canovic said.
He said that the project will strive to lower the prices of a square meter, as it a social project intended for citizens who cannot afford to buy real-estate in market prices.
Canovic said that he would negotiate with banks on further lowering of interest rates. In the next phase of the project, citizens from the northern region, young married couples, persons with disabilities and seniors will have advantage.
Canovic said that this project contributed to a more dynamic activity in construction sector that has suffered due to global financial crisis.
After the successful second phase, talks with representatives of the Council of Europe Development Bank are underway.
