The Democratic Party of Socialists (DF) official Nikola Gegaj says that there is total confusion within so-called civic opposition. He claims that this was proved yesterday by the meeting of leaders of SNP, SDP, Demos, Democrats and URA. SD representatives agree with him. They called the opposition’s meeting “promotion slam talks”.
According to Gegaj, there is an impression that there is no topic the civic opposition can agree upon.
“And can just imagine how the things in Montenegro would function if they were the ones who were in power,” Gegaj told CdM.
He commented on the thesis repeated several times during the yesterday’s meeting that the opposition is demanding repeating general elections. According to him, the demand is ungrounded.
“Obviously, they do not want to understand that the elections were held last year, and that they were completed in accordance with the law, without any significant irregularities that would doubt their outcome. This was confirmed by all international organisations that followed the elections and relevant international nerve centres. After all, we cannot organize elections every year to wait for the opposition to win,” the DPS official was clear.
As for the boycott, Gegaj said that it was proved unsuccessful and a total failure.
“There is no boycott any more, because most of the opposition MPs attend the sessions of the Parliament,” he said.
The Social Democrats said they did not want to comment on, as they put it, “promotion small talks” of the opposition five. They said the major news about the meetings of the cheerful five were where the next one would be held.
“As you can see, as time passes, the public concludes that the only thing they agree upon is to continue taking wages and other various fees from Parliament for failing to come to work,” SD said.
