Attorney of Slobodan Praljak, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in The Hague, claims that his client drank a bottle of poison.
When the first-instance verdict was confirmed, Praljak rose and said he was not a war criminal and dismissed the court decision.
Then, in the live broadcast of the hearing, Praljak could be seen drinking something from a bottle.
A few moments later the live broadcast from the courtroom was interrupted.
Praljak, who was chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Defence Council, was taken out of the courtroom.
Previously, a 20 and 25 year prison sentences were confirmed to Bruno Stojic and Jadranko Prlic respectively.
After delivering verdicts to six Croats in the Prlic case, the Hague Tribunal was supposed to end its work.
