Of the former Yugoslav states, Slovenia registered the highest monthly income last year, while citizens of Macedonia were the ones with the lowest incomes. Our country was ranked somewhere in the middle.
In November 2017, the average monthly income of Montenegro citizens amounted to €512 (at 3rd place in the rankings, after Slovenia and Croatia). According to the data of the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT), and compared to the same month in 2016, monthly incomes in Montenegro, without taxes and contributions rose by 1,8%.
By rule, Slovenia citizens received the highest average salary in the region (over €1,000). In October 2017, (the only available data) they earned €1,056 on average, followed by Croats who received €795 in the same month (kn 6,014).
The average monthly incomes in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to €436 (KM 853), in Serbia €399 (RSD 47,575), and €381 in Macedonia (MKD 23,356).
