A protest of professors, associates and students of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature was held in Cetinje because the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, headed by Ms Vesna Bratić, hasn’t paid any installments to this institution since last year – despite the legal temporary funding obligation.
The Ministry coordinator Dragan Koprivica provoked the gathered citizens and sent them kisses, which resulted in violent reactions and indignation.
After that, a part of the citizens tried to enter the building of the former Ministry of Culture.
Gathering organizers prevented a major incident from occurring.
The Faculty has stated that the gathering wasn’t reported, as well as that a large number of citizens joined the Faculty to show solidarity with it and protest against the Government, which by failing to fulfill legal obligations towards the Faculty, is settling accounts with the only institution aimed at affirming Montenegristika (Montenegro’s culture, language, history, ethnology and tradition). The gathering passed peacefully.
