Long waiting lines, crowded hospital halls, and months-long delays for medical appointments have become everyday realities for patients at Montenegro’s Clinical Centre (KCCG), which continues to carry the main burden of the country’s healthcare system.
Director Dr Aleksandar Radovic warns that without more specialists and stronger public healthcare, even the most advanced equipment cannot ensure proper treatment for citizens. Despite an increase in doctors and nurses, many departments remain understaffed, while the growing workload drives some medical professionals to the private sector.
Radovic emphasises that public healthcare must remain the foundation of the system, calling for better coordination between hospitals and primary care, improved working conditions, continuous training, and new infrastructure projects to ease overcrowding and maintain trust in the system.
