Program director of the Civic Alliance, Boris Raonić, reacted sharply to the suggestion of the part of local non-governmental organizations which asked Brussels to take into consideration blocking of the negotiations on the Montenegro’s EU membership.
Raonić said that stopping the negotiation process, that is, activation of the balancing clause would mean a “triple win” for those who are against the European integration.
Some NGOs, such as Institute Alternative, Center for the Civic Education, Center for Monitoring and Research among others, delivered a notice to the EU decision makers where they suggest that the European Commission should seriously consider activating balancing clause, i.e. “freezing” the negotiation on the accession of Montenegro to the EU.
