In the first days of August, record-breaking daily and weekly electricity consumption in the summer months has been recorded since the measurements were made, the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) stated.
According to the data, on 9 August, the highest daily electricity consumption in the summer months of 9,770MWh was recorded.
“In the first nine days of August, distributive consumption grew by 19.5% compared to the same period last year. It was by 9.4% higher compared to the same period of 2015, when the historical maximum of distribution consumption was registered,” EPCG stated.
The average daily consumption in July was about 7,800 MWh, compared to average consumption in July 2015, which was 7,830MWh.
The average July electricity bill for households in Montenegro (excluding those temporarily occupied) was €35.89, EPCG reports. The city registering the month’s lowest average consumption of €22.65 was Mojkovac, whereas Ulcinj registered the highest average electricity consumption of about €65.97.
“The percentage of consumers with electricity bills over €150 was 1.51%, and with bills ranging between €100 and €150 was 2.07%,” the power company adds.
Total household consumption was 113,020,164 kWh – a 24.3% rise compared with June, and 2.8% higher than July of last year.
As many as 180,073 households, or 53.3% of consumers, will receive the discount for regularly paying customers.
