The Ministry of Finance has drawn up a proposed revised budget for this year, which will be discussed today at the Government Committee for Economic Affairs, while it is expected to be sent to Parliament by the end of the week. The Ministry points out that the main reason for proposing a revised budget is the unexpected increase in income, but also the financing of early parliamentary elections. Analysts, on the other hand, indicate that this is evidence of poor planning of the most important economic act.

“Revenues are significantly above the ones planned. The reasons for this are different, but we notice that inclusive of April, the collection is about €120m more than planned, and by the end of the year we expect €225m more than initially planned. That’s about 10%”, says Bojan Paunovic from the Ministry of Finance.

Apart from the increase in income, the revised budget was also proposed in order to include in the law the €27m worth of aid that Montenegro recently received from the European Union, as well as the costs for holding early parliamentary elections.
