RTCG releases audio recording of alleged shooting at Belveder

Belveder

National broadcaster RTCG has released an audio recording of the head of the Security Center of Podgorica, Goran Jokic, who warns members of the police by radio that bursts were heard at the Belveder barricade, during the protest in Cetinje on 5 September. He tells them to apply protection procedures in situations where they are opened fire.

This recording was obtained by RTCG on the basis of information that firearms were used at Belveder by citizens who opposed the enthronement of Metropolitan Joanikije in the Cetinje Monastery. Shots from firearms or pyrotechnics can be heard on the recording.

“In our position, there is the use of firearms or pyrotechnics targeting the vehicle, we cannot tell for sure”, it is heard on the recording.

This video is in the possession of the Police Directorate and will be the subject of the investigation.
