Russia was the largest investor in Montenegro in the first four months of this year, with €41.6m in direct investments. Russians invested half of the money in the purchase of real estate in our country, for which they gave €20m, according to data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
A total of €306.47m of foreign direct investments arrived in Montenegro in four months of this year, which is €68.4m more than in the same period in 2021.
From the beginning of the year to the end of April, €5.37m worth of investments Montenegro received from Ukraine. Ukrainians spent most of their money on real estate purchases – €4.6m, while they invested €594,000 in companies and banks. A total of €173,000 refers to loans from Ukrainian companies.
After Russia, the most money came from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – €40.64m.
Turkey is in the 3rd place with direct investments worth €27.9m.
A little less was invested by the Italians, whose total investments amounted to €27.2m.
Switzerland took the 5th position with investments worth €25.5m – €6m in domestic companies and banks, €5.5m in real estate, and €13.9m in intercompany debt.
