Commenting on DPS leader Milo Djukanovic’s presidential candidacy, SDP MP and member of that party’s presidency, Dzavid Sabovic, said that his decision to run for president was an indication of serious conflicts within DPS.
Sabovic said it looked to him that Djukanovic’s candidacy was a way of providing him with immunity from legal prosecution.
He said that Djukanovic was involved in numerous affairs and is under a constant threat of facing serous court trials related to criminal activities and corruption. Therefore, he may benefit from the presidential post.
“In addition, he certainly realised that he has to run for president in order to preserve his party because nominating some other candidate would be an introduction in a defeat and collapse of DPS.
He emphasised that cooperation within the opposition was crucial and that all entities should support opposition candidate in the second round of presidential election.
