Saranovic’s killers set a car and an automatic rifle on fire?

A black BMW car without license plates and an automatic rifle were found yesterday in the Dub village near Kotor, Pobjeda writes. It is suspected that the vehicle and the rifle were used in murder of Slobodan Saranovic from Danilovgrad.

Police Directorate announced yesterday that the weapon, the car and DNA samples were sent to Forensic Centre in Danilovgrad for analysis. Police officers are also trying to find out whether the vehicle, the rifle and other items are related to the planning or committing any criminal offense, the directorate added.

Within the investigation into Saranoivic’s murder, police had earlier questioned Bar-based criminal groups which were led by late Luka Djurovic. All of them had a strong alibi.

Saranovic was killed on 11 March in front of his house in the Dubovica village. The killers who were in the BMW car fired up to 30 bullets into Saranovic. The bullets were fired from two different weapons probably by two persons.

Saranovic had been released from prison three months before the murder, on 9 December 2016. He spent almost three years in prison on suspicion that he had organised the murder of Nikola Bojovic, brother of Zemun Gang leader Luka Bojovic, along with Ratko Koljensic from Niksic.

Just a few days after Saranovic was released, he reported to police that someone attempted to kill him. He handed over a gun and a cell phone of the potential assassin, he had communicated with.

On that occasion, the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) formed a case and Saranovic was questioned as a witness. However, there were no steps forward in the investigation. Although there were suspicions that the person hired to kill Saranovc was associated with the Skaljari clan, no suspects were published.

According to Montenegrin police, Saranovic was at war with the Luka Bojovic’s mafia clan (which controls Kotor-based Skaljari clan and Bar-based part of the late Luka Djurovic’s criminal group) for years.

Nikola Bojovic was killed in April 2013 in the centre of Belgrade. Sasa Cvetanovic was said to be a direct perpetrator. He is on trial at Belgrade’s Special Court.

Slobodan’s brother Branislav Saranović (66) was killed in October 2009. The murder has not been solved so far. Slobodan marked the clan led by Luka Bojovic as the originator of the murder.

Bojovic is currently in the Spanish prison where he is serving 18 year sentence for illegal possession of weapons and personal identity document forgery. Spanish police suspected Bojovic for several murders in the country as well, but there was no evidence of his involvement.
