Saveljic dismissed, Mujovic requests dismissal of EPCG Solar Gradnja BoD

Saša Mujović

Minister of Energy Sasa Mujovic has asked the Board of Directors of Montenegro’s power supplier (EPCG) to start the process of dismissing the Board of Directors of the EPCG Solar Gradnja company.

Mujovic, as announced by the Ministry, is surprised by the decisions of the named Board of Directors “which are not only not in accordance with the agreed working principles agreed upon at regular collegiums at the Ministry of Energy, but are also contrary to the basic postulates of cooperation on the relationship between the Ministry and energy entities”.

“The Board of Directors of the EPCG Solar Gradnja company dismissed the CEO, Valerija Saveljic, without any arguments about the omissions in her work that she may have committed, which leads to the suspicion that it is a politically motivated dismissal. The Ministry and the minister himself do not want to be a part of it. Additionally, EPCG will be obliged to pay substantial monetary compensation to Ms. Saveljic, based on the termination of the contract. This is especially important because of the coming year 2025 and the large costs to which EPCG will be exposed”, the statement of the Ministry of Energy states.

It is surprising, it adds, that such decisions are made despite the agreement that in September the business arrangements of the companies and the results for the first half of the year would be reviewed, after which further moves in terms of personnel, as well as in the formulation of business plans, would follow.
