Seawater at Montenegrin beaches is sanitary and safe for swimming and recreation, an analysis of the seawater quality showed. The analysis was conducted by the Institute of Biology from 19 to 20 July.
“The results of the seawater quality analysis for 100 public beaches along the Montenegrin coast showed that seawater quality at 95% beaches was K1 class and at 5% was K2 class. It indicates that the seawater at Montenegrin beaches is sanitary and safe for swimming and recreation,” said the Agency for Coastal Zone Management.
The K2 class of seawater was registered at one beach in Bar, Budva and Tivat and at two beaches in Herceg Novi, whereas the K1 class water was registered at all beaches in Ulcinj (16) and Kotor (15), as well as at 11 beaches in Bar, 26 beaches in Budva, 8 in Tivat and 19 beaches in Herceg Novi.
