Šehović: Montenegro’s getting four kindergartens worth €6.5m

In an interview with the weekend edition of Dnevne Novine daily, Montenegro’s Education Minister, Mr Damir Šehović, noted that in autumn there would be a tender process announced for the construction of a kindergarten in Block 6, Podgorica, while the construction of kindergartens in Herceg Novi and Pljevlja are already underway. As for the Rožaje kindergarten, a foundation stone has already been laid, Minister Šehović stressed.

“In addition, we are currently preparing the new project in cooperation with the Council of Europe Development Bank, and the plan is to build seven more kindergartens worth not less than €15 million. The kindergarten in Rožaje, which is now being constructed, is worth €1.5 million with a 1-year construction completion deadline,” Mr Šehović said.

The tender for the construction of a kindergarten in Block 6, Podgorica, will be announced in autumn, and the expected value of the project is around €2 million.

Tender process for the construction of a €850,000 kindergarten in Pljevlja is now underway. The construction of the Herceg Novi kindergarten is expected in autumn as well, and the estimated value of the project is around €2 million.

“If everything goes by the plan, this year we are going to start with the construction of four kindergartens at least, totalling nearly €6.5 million,” Minister Šehović emphasized.

According to him, there are also plans for kindergartens in Bar and Ulcinj, while the preliminary design of the one in Ulcinj will be presented to the public in due course.
