Commenting on the fact that the Czech power company CEZ is looking for a new partner for Skoda Praha, economy minister Dragica Sekulic said that it was not defined whether it was a sale or possible recapitalisation of Skoda Praha.
“In any case, any of these activities implies a change in ownership structure, which cannot affect their contractual obligations in any way. By activating the put option with A2A, there may be a change in the ownership structure of the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG), but that should not affect the contractual obligations of the company,” Sekulic said at today’s press conference when the 2018 draft budget was presented.
Asked whether the draft budget includes buying A2A’s stake, Sekulic said that the draft budget stipulated that the model of implementing the put option arising from the shareholder agreement between the state and A2A regarding the EPCG would be defined during the next year.
“After that, the government will define and propose adequate measures to Parliament for further procedure. The budget text contains the room to propose Parliament the solution at the moment when the government opts for the scenario for paying the put option,” Sekulic added.
She also stated that the draft budget foresees €2m grants for entrepreneurship. It implies applying the provision of stimulating direct investments with €1.2m, and the rest for the implementation of existing and new support programs within the Ministry of Economy.
