The European leaders want to be sure that only those countries which are completely ready become the EU Member States, and not those who met the criteria at the given moment only, said for “Pobjeda” Harvard professor and former Minister of Defense of Poland, Radosław Sikorski.
The West Europe is tired and wants to be sure about its choices.
“Once you adopt the democratic standards and principles, you have to stay on that course after you become the member of the European Community. What happens now is that some Member States don’t meet the criteria any longer”, says Sikorski.
On the subject of Montenegrin NATO membership, he says that it’s a great opportunity for our country to transform its defense system, modernize the army and give its contribution to the security of the region.
“A small, serious and charming country. That’s how I see Montenegro”, says Sikorski.
