The agreement on the reciprocity of the conversion of driver’s licenses between the governments of Montenegro and Italy, which should enable Montenegrin citizens residing in Italy to convert driver’s licenses issued in the country of origin, is in the phase of harmonization. The period during which a Montenegrin driver’s license can be used in Italy is, for now, 12 months, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told CdM.
When talking about driver’s licenses, regarding Germany, the Ministry has informed CdM that the procedure for mutual recognition of driver’s licenses between Montenegro and Germany is in the final stage and that the text of the agreement between the two countries is being harmonized.
The Ministry stated in November 2024 that all 16 German provinces gave the green light for signing agreements on the recognition of driver’s licenses.
