Škrelja expected Orav’s condemnation of the attack

Member of Parliament from the Democratic Party of Socialists, Luiđ Škrelja, isn’t surprised that the Head of the EU Delegation, Aivo Orav, did not condemn the death threats that Škrelja received by unidentified taxi driver on Tuesday night.

“This is not the first time that I say to Orav that what is written about us in DPS is not true. That’s why this absence of his reaction comes as no surprise”, said Škrelja.

During the Round table about the Montenegrin Public Service, held in Podgorica on Wednesday, Luiđ Škrelja asked Orav whether he thought that MPs should be protected from attacks, verbal of physical, saying him that the day before, he himself had been the victim of death threats. While he was crossing the zebra, a taxi driver stopped the car and told him: “For the good of this nation, somebody should run over you by a car”.

Orav said that the question is difficult to answer and it is the risk of the profession. However, Škrelja thinks that his intentions weren’t bad. Nobody should be exposed to attacks and insults just because he/she belongs to specific profession.

“He said that being MP is better than being a diplomat since the diplomats aren’t allowed to complain before judicial authorities. As far as I understood, he wanted to say that I’m in  more favorable position than he is”, said Škrelja.

Škrelja decided not to submit charges.
