The draft budget law envisages savings on discretionary expenses of around 60% or €183 mil, the Minister of Finances, Mr Milojko Spajić, told Dan daily, adding that discretionary expenses refer to costs of consulting services, lawyer services, communication services, representation…
Of this amount of savings, €13 mil will be spent on social reimbursements, alignment of pensions and health system so the total public spending, compared to 2020, will decrease by €170 mil.
“We are about to finalize a great and significant job and the government will have the proposal for the 2021 budget law by late March. Key features of this budget are a significant decrease in the deficit and savings of the country, rather than citizens. We will increase the transparency through the full implementation of the program budget and we’ve made considerable savings,” Minister Spajić said.
According to him, costs of consulting services will be three times less, they’ll cut costs for various services as well (communication and lawyer services, official lunches, representation, fuel and travels…).
The Minister notes that the government has the obligation solely to the state and citizens and due to its good and lawful decisions, it’s been accused for its actions on a daily basis, which only witnesses the inability of anyone to affect the new Montenegrin government.
Montenegro, he adds, is already in deep debt distress caused by the former government.
