At a special session of the Montenegrin Parliament dedicated to Prime Minister’s Questions, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic responded to MPs’ inquiries, with most attention focused on the planned wastewater treatment plant in Botun and the issue of red mud. Spajic announced that the Government will take on €32m in debt to address the red-mud basins and said he trusts the institutions’ assessment that the wastewater facility is a sound project in every respect. He added that he is ready to meet with Botun residents.
Democratic People’s Party MP Milan Knezevic sharply criticised the project, accusing the Government of endangering citizens’ health and threatening to leave the ruling coalition. He alleged corruption and said he would withdraw from the government if the police moved to confront the residents of Zeta.
