As a sign of good and sincere will to ease tensions with the opposition, I will propose that PES should not form a majority to vote for a new judge to replace the judge Dragana Djuranovic until the Constitutional Court has ruled on her case, announced Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.
At the beginning of the week, Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic noted the termination of the position of the Constitutional Court judge Dragana Djuranovic.
Previously, at the Constitutional Committee session, conclusions were adopted to issue a call for the election of two judges of the Constitutional Court by Parliament, and to hold discussions with President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic, to encourage him to issue a call for the election of two additional Constitutional Court judges, for which he is responsible.
On that occasion, the opposition assessed that a “constitutional coup” was carried out by the decision to retire the judges of the Constitutional Court by decision of the Constitutional Committee.
Spajic said yesterday that the Government was ready for talks with the opposition representatives, adding that it would not be good if there was a boycott of the work of the Parliament.
He added that the Constitutional Court is the only one that can say whether something is constitutional or not.
