Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajic has requested an urgent opinion and recommendations from the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission) regarding the dismissal of Dragana Djuranovic, a judge of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, according to his Cabinet.
The Cabinet explained that, given the concerns from both the government and opposition on this constitutional and legal matter, the letter outlines the key questions and arguments raised by both sides.
“Additional documentation will be provided to the Venice Commission to offer a comprehensive understanding of the interpretation of the relevant norms, both materially and formally”, Spajic’s Cabinet noted.
In conclusion, the signatories of the Agreement are seeking not only answers to their questions but also recommendations from the Venice Commission to help resolve potential dilemmas within Montenegro’s constitutional and legal framework concerning this issue.
