Among the Government’s obligations in 2024 is to establish amendments to the Law on Courts, which will create the conditions for the formation of a Special Court to fight organized crime, high corruption, money laundering and war crimes.
This information is contained in the mid-term work programme of the Government, 2024-2027, adopted yesterday.
As stated, the current Government began its tenure on 30 October 2023, with a clear commitment that the recovery and prosperity of society will come first and that it will work dedicatedly on economic reforms, improving the living standards of every individual, the rule of law and as soon as possible accession of Montenegro to the European Union.
As stated, it is planned to determine the Proposed Law on Amendments to the Law on Courts by the fourth quarter of the current year.
Ratification of the Treaty on Supplementing the Treaty between Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia on Extradition is planned for the same period.
It is also planned for the Government to establish the Proposed Amendments to the Law on the Basics of the Intelligence and Security Sector of Montenegro.
The process of relocating the Special State Prosecutor’s Office to the old Government building in Podgorica has also begun in order to provide that institution with much better working conditions.
