The announcement of the newly elected head of the Institute for Urgent Medical Care, Dr Vuk Nikovic, that they’re going to stop with their activities in Golubovci unpleasantly surprised residents of this city municipality counting 25.000 citizens. However, this is not surprising at all for those who have been carefully monitoring bad moves in the recruitment policy of the new government.
Everybody knows that docs working in the Golubovci Health Center cannot take on duties of their counterparts from the Institute for Urgent Medical Care, as they’re not trained to perform that kind of medical services and because the scope of their work has significantly increased.
Dr Nikovic doesn’t seem to be aware of these things, as he actually left several doctors from the Institute jobless. In addition, three more doctors had left the institute before this, while many of them announced they were going to specialize and leave this institution forever. Therefore, instead of opening new units for urgent medical care, we may expect others to close as well.
