Stagnation in wine exports to Russia to be annulled by selling to other markets

Temporary stagnation in wine exports to Russia will affect the overall result of the Plantaze’s sale. However the company expects it will be annulled by positive trends in the domestic, as well as other strategic markets such as Serbia, China, the United States, Germany and Australia, director of export at 13. Jul Plantaze company Milan Milutinovic.

According to him, Plantaze’s wines are currently being exported to 43 countries, and sales growth has been recorded in almost all markets.

“We expect the result in a very important market of Russia to be annulled by these positive trends primarily in the domestic market of Montenegro, as well as our other strategic markets such as the markets of Serbia, China, the United States, Germany, Australia,” said Milutinovic.

He added that the company believes that the current ban on the import is temporary and therefore it will not transfer the wines intended for Russia to the other markets.

“We will transfer products to other markets, particularly bearing in mind that the products intended for Russian market are specifically modelled and adapted to the requirements of consumers there. We’ll wait the situation to be resolved and we do not expect it will take too long,” said Milutinovic.

He also said that sales of all products, including wine, peach and trout was increasing, recalling that

Plantaze’s wines have recently been awarded with five silver and bronze medals in London.

Currently, harvest of peaches and nectarines is ongoing in Plantaze. According to Milutinovic, this year’s harvest is expected to be among good ones because, in addition to applying appropriate safeguards, weather conditions were also favourable.

“The grape harvest will begin in August. It is difficult to make any predictions now. In principle, based on the preparation and the current situation, we can hope for an excellent harvest both of table and wine grapes. However, in each stage of grape growing there may be issues due to various microbiological, but above all, climate impacts that may significantly affect the final the result of the harvest,” said Milutinovic.
