Stankovic: Neither praise nor criticism affects the prosecutor’s office

Neither praise nor criticism affects the prosecutor’s office’s work, the chief state prosecutor Ivica Stankovic said during the meeting with UK ambassador to Montenegro Alison Kemp.

Stankovic presented the structure and organization of the State Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the results achieved in the previous period.

SSP said that he was aware that the ambassador would be presented different positions on the work of the prosecutor’s office by representatives of different structures.

“One of the reasons is the fact that we are getting their support when the prosecutor’s office’s decisions match their positions, whereas we are criticised in other cases,” Stankovic said, emphasising that neither praise nor criticism affects the prosecutor’s office’s work, since prosecutors make decisions exclusively based on the results of evidence.

Kemp said that prosecutor’s office’s role is vital for the judicial system of the state and noted that she recognised problems related to the working conditions and spatial capacities of the institution.

The two officials expressed expectations that good cooperation from the previous period would continue in the future.
