They analyzed Montenegrin potential for production of electric energy from sustainable resources with Fatmir Gjeka, president of municipality of Ulcinj, it was reported by web portal ul-info.
Steinacker said that they are interested in realization of the project worth 220 thousand euros, via German development bank, for production of solar energy on the area of the saltern and that municipality can candidate other parts of its territory for similar projects too.
Ambassador particularly emphasized the importance that saltern has for Ulcinj and Montenegro, and that this area should be developed strategically with a master plan without devastation.
Gjeka confirmed that they are very interested in solving the issue of saltern, and emphasized that Municipality of Ulcinj is preparing the material for all political parties in Montenegrin parliament about how municipality of Ulcinj sees the development and futrue of the saltern.
After the meeting, ambassador Steinacker with the escort of vice president of Ulcinj Zenepe Lika visited the saltern and potentially interesting locations for installation of solar panels for electric energy production.
