Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Mr Aleksandar Stijović, said that Montenegro “has a clearly defined European agenda and that it will stay on that course”.
During the meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Ms Oana-Cristina Popa, Mr Stijović pointed out that his department would actively work on the implementation of steps taken by the Action plan and Measures 7 – Diversification of farms and development of business.
“New program period 2021-2027 starts soon and it is particularly important for the implementation of IPARD III program”, he pointed out.
Minister stressed that he would personally insist on correcting shortcomings and improving areas which need improvement.
Ambassador Popa congratulated Mr Stijović on taking office and expressed her firm belief that he would continue to strengthen cooperation with the EU institutions in the area of agriculture, rural development, forestry and food safety.
“In the previous period, the EU has invested a great amount of resources to assist in the implementation of these processes in MNE through the implementation of Instruments of pre-accession support for candidate countries”, Ms Popa said.
