The head of the Police Directorate will announce results of the investigation into false bomb threats at the press conference scheduled for today, Dnevne Novine writes.
Stojanovic told DN that information obtained so far would be presented, as well as the results of the investigation into another, very important case, which police was intensively working on.
“We will present results of the investigation into wrongdoings of members of an organised criminal group,” Stojanovic said.
As a reminder, series of false bomb alerts began in mid-April. In almost a month, there were as many as 18 false bomb threats in Podgorica (the Delta City shopping mall, the Atlas Capital centre, the Beagle night club, the hotels Ramada, Hemera and Hilton and the Moraca sports centre).
PM Dusko Markovic recently said that the perpetrators would be identified soon. He added that the perpetrators of these crimes were aimed at destabilising Montenegro, economically threatening it and trying to affect our country’s rating as a safe destination.
Preliminary results of the investigation indicated a suspicion that the motive of the false threats could be both political and economic. According to one theory, the false alerts were result of a clan score-settling.
None of the owners of evacuated buildings could say who was behind the false bomb alerts.
The calls falsely warning of bombs were made from prepaid numbers in Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina which were used only on those occasions.
