The motorway section stretching from Matesevo to Andrijevica will be 23.5 km long, which makes up 13.9% of the total length of the Bar-Boljare motorway. It will mostly go through mountain ranges, whereas the projected speed through this section will be at 100 km/h.
This can be seen in the request for consent to the Elaboration of Environmental Impact Assessment submitted by the Ministry of Capital Investments to the Environment Protection Agency. The report was open for public until yesterday, July 24.
The construction site of the section belongs to the municipalities of Kolasin and Andrijevica. The document suggests that it is a two-way road with four lanes, while the motorway is designed as two separate road directions, mainly extending through hilly areas.
The starting point is after the Matesevo interchange and the 555 meter long tunnel, which has already been built and belongs to the Smokovac-Matesevo section. The end of the research area is near the river Krastica, a tributary of Lim, near Andrijevica.
The section envisages the Andrijevica and Matesevo interchanges, with a note that study doesn’t elaborate on the Matesevo lane.
The second phase of the project envisages construction of the remaining sections of the motorway, while the motorway interchange is going to connect it with the existing local road network.
The last phase proposes the interchange which would connect the future section (Andrijevica-Berane) of the Bar-Boljare motorway with the (future) branch leading to Pec. The proposed interchange would be good to connect the two motorways, enabling the construction of all related functional facilities with the final solution.
The total length of the Bar-Boljare motorway is around 169 km and represents an important infrastructure project on the territory of Montenegro.
