A strong blow and a clear message to gangs in Montenegro

Gangs in Montenegro have suffered a strong blow and they have been sent a clear message. We will continue this way, even more decisively, said prime minister Dusko Markovic.

Markovic pointed out that the safety was improved, which was a result of the new government’s approach.

“This government has introduced a new approach when it comes to our general safety and security. We have recovered the authority of the security services and police officers. Today, everyone looks at police officers with respect. Gangs in Montenegro have suffered a strong blow and they have been sent a clear message. We will continue this way, even more decisively,” said Markovic.

The report on implementing Government’s plan for the first quarter of 2017, which was adopted at cabinet meeting held on Thursday, showed that government’s performance was 90.6% of the planned, with 14 of 18 ministries 100% fulfilling their targets.

PM said he was satisfied with the efficiency of the government, not only on the basis of statistical indicators, but also when it comes to the key elements of the government.

PM pointed out teamwork, solidarity and achieved results, particularly in the fields of providing political, economic and security stability.

Markovic said that in addition to meeting agenda requirements, the government also tried to change the situation in society, primarily by changing the well-established political practice.

“The government is particularly focused to create the conditions for quality development and valorisation of our economic potential,” the prime minister said, adding that increasing interest from renowned investors for our country is the best confirmation of this approach.
