Temporary visa regime for Turkish citizens comes into effect

Zastava Turske

The Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, as of 30 October 2025, the temporary visa regime for Turkish citizens has officially taken effect. Holders of ordinary Turkish passports are now required to obtain a Montenegrin visa (“C” for stays up to 90 days within 180 days, or “D” for stays up to 180 days within a year) through Montenegro’s Embassy in Ankara or Consulate General in Istanbul.

However, Turkish citizens holding valid Schengen, U.S., U.K., Canadian, Australian, Japanese, New Zealand, or Irish visas or residence permits may still enter and stay in Montenegro for up to 30 days without a Montenegrin visa. The visa-free regime remains in place for holders of diplomatic, official, and special Turkish passports.
