Are we facing elections?
The story about the minority government has turned into a circus for a pretty while now. Almost two months have passed since the government was removed, and it is finalizing its priorities in full capacity – hiring, staffing, spending money on the promotion of its political projects. Abazovic takes no responsibility and fails to present the government “in a day or two”, as announced by Konatar. Or at least he should return the mandate.
It is no longer proposed only by the DF, but it is increasingly heard as an option from the statements of the previous opposition. Andrija Nikolic mentioned yesterday the deadline of 4-5 days to form a government or to go to the polls. This day-two, four-five, this week, next week, says a lot about what that government will be like, if by some miracle it is formed.
PM Krivokapic represents Montenegro in full capacity in Greece, and is using a meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary Gabriel Escobar to threaten that a minority government would be the prelude to unrest. During the talks, sanctions against Russia were also mentioned, which should be adopted at the cabinet meeting that was supposed to be held yesterday, but was still postponed for today.
Examining Medenica case
The reaction of the Chief Special Prosecutor (GST) to the Libertas Press’s revelation regarding the alleged correspondence between Milos Medenica is not promising for now. A few days after the disclosure of the transcripts that have been in the possession of the police for some time, the GST still weighs whether there are elements of a crime in the messages, although we all see that there are. Medenica was not contacted by the prosecuting authorities, he was not summoned to the police and the prosecutor’s office, and according to Libertas’s journalists, he is not in Montenegro. The lack of communication between the prosecutor’s office and the security sector with the public on this and other issues is not encouraging.
Milatovic the mayor and other visions of Minister Spajic
Minister Milojko Spajic was a guest on Vijesti TV last night and spoke about the political plans of him and the team. He sees Jakov Milatovic as the holder of the Podgorica list now, and he still does not specify the formal organization of the party at the level of the headquarters. Although Spajic is trying to hide behind allegedly decentralized lists and distance himself from local politicians, it is clear to everyone that state resources are being used to strengthen the emerging movement. He also said that PM Krivokapic would not be in that party.
In addition to politics, Minister Spajic has a vision of Montenegro as a destination where one of the cryptocurrency market institutions could be found at a global level. These days, I do not hear the on-duty critics of neoliberalism and capitalism saying that they are afraid of deregulation. Nothing acts as a sedative for the salon left, as a reserved place next to the budget trough.
MANS’s report against Abazovic
Yesterday, the NGO MANS submitted to the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) requests to initiate proceedings against DPM Dritan Abazovic and his advisor Filip Adzic, all because they did not refuse a gift in the form of paid travel and travel expenses in Dubai and Abu Dabi (UAE) in December last year.
