Impact vaccines
After the intervention of Mr Andrija Mandić the day before yesterday, the first contingent of 2,000 Russian vaccines, as aid to Montenegro, arrived by plane of the Government of Serbia. The vaccines were handed over to the Montenegrin PM Zdravko Krivokapić by the Serbian PM Ana Brnabić.
In a tweet, PM Krivikapić again deceived the public by failing to mention that vaccination could have started almost a month ago, if some other donations had been accepted.
Something similar was stated by the President Milo Đukanović, who said that had the Government accepted the previously offered donations, the vaccination could have started on 24 January.
The Government’s hypocrisy in relation to donations, especially by Mr Dritan Abazović and Ms Jelena Borovinić Bojović, can be seen in the analysis of their earlier statements and actions, and I would say by deceiving the public, which was done by my colleague Miraš Dušević.
The ruling parties are grateful and look uncritically at Mr Vučić’s donation, as in the case of Mr Milan Knežević, who says that this is proof of unbreakable fraternal ties, or Mr Vladimir Joković, who stresses that this symbolizes the fact that Serbia and Montenegro will always be there for one another. At the time, opposition parties were critical of the donation, and of the act of bringing vaccines by Serbian government plane. The PM, together with the minister Borovinić Bojović and associated lined up, the condescending speech, the campaign of humiliation of Montenegro that accompanied the donation, significantly compromised it in the eyes of part of the Montenegrin public.
The DPS reacted in connection with donations and the general situation in the health system, emphasizing that by such actions, the Government destroys the reputation of the state.
The illogicalities in the address of the Minister JBB are mentioned by the Social Democrats and the Social Democratic Party, who say that Ms Borovinić deceived the public regarding the process of providing vaccines.
The 21May Civic Initiative issued a statement backed by Messrs. Rade Bojović, Ilija Vujošević, Miodrag Miko Živković and Branko Lukovac, who see Mr Vučić‘s political motives in this move by the Government of Serbia.
Epidemiological situation and government response
Measures introduced in the coast seem to have yielded results and the number of newly infected people in Budva, for example, has dropped significantly. However, the Government was quite late with them. Yesterday, it was decided to extend the measures to some more cities in the country. The Government also responded aggressively to President Đukanović’s criticism, blaming everything on the former ruling power. Today, the Public Health Institute (IJZ) held a press conference at which the freshly hired Nevenka Ćirović Bošković, who scandalously moderated KZŠ, also appeared. The dramatic situation in Montenegro is confirmed by the State Department’s warning to its citizens, stressing that they should not plan to travel to Montenegro.
Turning point for Democrats and URA
While the PM justified himself on Twitter yesterday because he withdrew his support for the prosecutorial laws, the DF told him that they would not vote for anything, including the budget, until these laws are put on the Parliament agenda. What all this can mean I have commented for CdM in this text. Mr Tonino Picula, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Montenegro, was the RTCG’s guest, discussing these recent events.
Bosniak Party, DPS, SD and SDP reacted and welcomed this decision, but not without criticism and ridicule.
Congratulations to Kosovo
The PM and the Speaker of Parliament avoided publicly congratulating Kosovo on its Independence Day, so Mr Dritan Abazović did it on their behalf.
In a very cold statement, which was not accompanied by pomp as a congratulatory message to Serbia from two days ago, he briefly referred to good neighborly relations in a few harsh phrases. He could have looked up to Mr Joe Biden, who wrote to Kosovo institutions like this. How much and what those who support this kind of Government think about Kosovars was also said by stoning the Kosovo bus last night in Berane. It must be UDBA again.
Mr Nik Đeljošaj reacted to the ignoring of the Kosovo holidays in Tuzi by displaying the Kosovo and Albanian flags on the video beam.
