Iterations
Representatives of the new majority gathered again. They are talking at cross purposes. Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic, who returned “wounded” from Belgrade, are advocating that Miodrag Lekic be the new prime minister, and that they head Parliament. Vladimir Jokovic believes in the agreement, while the Democrats and URA are keeping silent. In fact, Dritan Abazovic spoke on his favorite A1 TV in Montenegro, which is close to Vucic, (the new owner was arrested before the elections in Niksic together with Vlado Mandic) and said that the Prime Minister should not set up a party. Abazovic’s moves have long hinted at the tactical closeness of URA and DF. It is quite visible now. It is more than obvious that they cannot agree on their own and that the Serbian Church and Vucic, who together have an influence on most of the ruling coalition, will have to intervene.
Reunion with baroness
The Prime Minister is on the “first historic” official visit of the Montenegrin Prime Minister to London. Many have denied him this “primacy”, but it is good that he is moving, promoting Montenegro and meeting people. However, despite all the important meetings, the most impressive is the one with Baroness Goldie, with whom he had a harmless flirtation in Bar recently when he told her in front of everyone that he was “just sorry they didn’t meet earlier”.
Inconceivable lies
Let’s get back to serious topics. Dritan Abazovic’s cabinet said yesterday that he would be one of the speakers at the commemoration in Srebrenica on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the genocide, at the Memorial Center in Potocari. Many reacted violently for several reasons. Firstly, Abazovic brought genocide deniers to power in Montenegro, and he is very close to them. Secondly, he first defended Vladimir Leposavic, saying that he didn’t deny the genocide. Thirdly, Abazovic has genocide relativizers in his own party, such as Tatjana Becanovic, who in the election campaign refused to call the crime in Srebrenica a genocide, and recently defended the election of Marko Kovacevic, a Chetnik movement supporter, as the mayor of Niksic.
The denial of Emir Suljagic, the director of the Memorial Center in Potocari, appeared very quickly, and he said that Abazovic was not mentioned anywhere as a speaker.
In a well-prepared role-play before and after the scandals caused by false announcements, Dodik attacked Abazovic, and then Dzaferovic naively defended him.
Justice for the Klapuh family
Yesterday was the 29th anniversary of 6 July 1992 – the date when Hasan, Ferida and Sena Klapuh from Foca, Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), were murdered in Pluzine. They were killed by members of the Dragan Nikolic unit of the Army of the Serb Republic (VRS), who were convicted in Montenegro for that murder, qualified as a war crime against the civilian population, back in 1996, but the majority did not serve their sentence. Says the Human Rights Action (HRA).
Budva marina populism
Competing with the Democrats who will chase more investors in a shorter time, Bato Carevic and his protege Mladen Mikijelj overplayed themselves, and local partners from the Democrats warn them about that. Although they triumphantly declared “the return of ports to the people”, the investor will remain in the marina at least until April next year. What they can only cause with their sudden and unknown behavior are the consequences for the budget of Montenegro. It is interesting that Carevic is now attacking American investors, who had good partnership relations with him. Radio Free Europe dealt with this case.
