Good morning! The DPS proposed a political government last night thus sparking strong reactions of URA. While Russia’s invading Ukraine, Montenegro is being divided. Niksic supported Russia, Cetinje expressed its support for Ukraine, the SDP won Cetinje thanks to URA and Democrats.
Political government?
Last night, the DPS presented another model of overcoming the crisis – the political government. Jevto Erakovic presented it last night following talks with the President of Montenegro. Erakovic said that the DPS was backing the concept of a minority government, but having in mind the latest trends, it believes that a political government, with the involvement of the DPS and a stable pro-European majority in parliament, would guarantee stability in this challenging time. And concerning the economic and security situation as well.
Former Prime Minister and MP, Dusko Markovic, wrote about it in a slightly different way, who, after Dritan’s partying with brothers and fraternities, concluded that the concept excluding the largest political entity clearly committed to the Euro-Atlantic future of Montenegro, without providing any rational explanation, should not be supported.
Expect now conspiracy theories about how ‘Dusko staged a coup against Milo’ and so on, but in fact this is nothing but a demonstration of the unity of the DPS and the new strength and power they felt with the latest development of the situation on a global and national level. It’s hypocritical for URA to prohibit the DPS from entering the government because of their principles while hanging out with those who would prepare the fate of Ukraine for Montenegro tomorrow. Those who are now deliberately, according to someone else’s instructions, making an institutional coup by refusing to convene a parliament’s session.
Last night, they again, by default, denied the possibility of the DPS to enter the government. While URA is fooling around and procrastinating, Montenegro and its state apparatus are frozen in space and time, frozen in fear of what’s happening. While other countries are taking strong and decisive steps, our dysfunctional and outgoing government is pretending to be dead.
In that context, it’s important to emphasize that President Djukanovic requested urgent action by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro in order to create conditions for making appropriate decisions by the Defense and Security Council and the Parliament of Montenegro.
Serbs in Montenegro, Russians in Ukraine
This was the slogan of last night’s gathering of Dritan’s friends from Niksic, who clearly expressed their support for Russia, as they did at a dinner attended by Dritan. While the scenario of Ukraine in Montenegro is being prepared in the mindsets of extremists from those organizations, the ground for that has been preparing for years. Andrej Nikolaidis writes about this in his latest column titled ‘You wanted church techno-populism? Now enjoy its black fruits.’
And while these fruits have grown and the branches are bending well under them, someone else has planted some new seeds in the last year and a half, whose saplings are already starting to grow. The only question is – are we late.
SDP’s disgrace in Cetinje now official
Nothing could stop Djuraskovic from becoming the mayor of Cetinje. Not even the war in Ukraine. The global crisis only served to make it easier for the SDP to form a bloc with URA and the Democrats in Cetinje. That is why they are now proposing resolutions and voting, in order to declare themselves out loud where they are and what they are. The message is that we don’t listen to what they say, but watch what they do, as Nemanja Batricevic said recently.
