Ten to Eight – Protest

You are reading a daily contextual review of the news that marked the previous day.

By Ljubomir Filipovic, CdM observer

Yesterday we gathered spontaneously over appointments in schools. There were between 400 and 500 of us. The demands were to put the decision on the appointments of headteachers out of force and the resignation of Vesna Bratic. There were messages that the idea of the Serbian World would not be allowed to spread through educational policies and staffing in institutions. For the first time, the gathering united all state-building organizations and parties, and representatives of all state-building parties spoke at the protest, except minority parties, which were not there due to the big holiday that is underway. Yet, despite being members of parties and organizations, all political leaders acted as citizens first and foremost.

The protest caused great attention of the Montenegrin and regional public, and with it an avalanche of attacks on social networks by the Serbian extreme right. On the wave of these attacks, the Democrats also dealt with the gathered citizens in their shameful statement.

Freedom for Risto

The entire state apparatus was racing over who would release citizen Risto Jovanovic, who deserved special treatment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by provoking the Kosovo police, who was sentenced to 6 months in prison or a fine for his arrogant behavior. Mirsad Bibovic, a diplomat from the former structure, who obviously adapted very well to the new trends in the Montenegrin Government, also won the race with Andrija Mandic.

DF Vs. Democrats

A daily dose of their conflicts for you. The DF claims that the rating of the Democrats has dropped below 10%, and the Democrats are teasing Mandic to lead his list, counting that the DF would have a disastrous result in that case. Here, the Democrats are 100% right and as things currently stand according to surveys, the trend is such that support for the DF is melting, while it is growing for the Democrats.

Serbian World situation

Milorad Dodik supported the idea of Aleksandar Vulin, with the correction that this idea does not imply territorial pretensions, because what is Serbian, it’s probably Serbian. While they are joking, and our civil activists think it is a cliché, the chancellor’s portal makes billboards in Budva, which deny the Montenegrin nation and identity. So, that is the chancellor and Zdravko’s team. It’s the portal that has a “National TV” in Serbia, which even has a show called Serbian World. Many want to show that the DF is the only source of extremism, even though Leposavic and Bratic, Stijovic and the chancellor, and IN4S are all part of Zdravko’s entourage. The billboards were destroyed very quickly. Provocations of this type carried out by the Government are intended to provoke a fierce reaction from the citizens, after which they would prove the thesis of “two extremisms”.

Fr. Gojko’s transfer

The Belgrade Patriarchate removed the chancellor of the Cetinje seminary, Gojko Perovic, and sent him to Podgorica, where he will be the elder of the Church of St. George, the Vidovdan portal close to the very top of the Serbian Orthodox Church has announced, Pobjeda reports.

Government bulletin

This Government shares edible oil – 70,000 liters. And Minister Jakov Milatovic brags about that on Twitter. That’s where we got.

While Milatovic distributes oil to the wonderful people, Milojko Spajic and Zdravko Krivokapic will spend the worth of 20,000 liters of oil on their trip to Tokyo.

And all this is happening while the Government is introducing Buk Bijela as an acceptable option. It has all really been refreshing.

That’s it for today. See you tomorrow at the same time and at the same place.
