Race for the PM position
Last night, Petar Komnenic hosted Andrija Mandic as part of the DF strategy rehabilitation, which was created by Komnenic’s boss Zeljko Ivanovic, and this time in a relaxed atmosphere with mutual respect, Andrija was almost as relaxed as Dritan in Komnenic’s show. Everything was subordinated to the comfort of Mandic, who without any tension could present himself as a reformed, polished Chetnik, who agrees to everything just to become prime minister. If they continue like this, Vijesti will eventually turn Mandic into a Montenegrin and an anti-fascist.
While Vijesti wants Mandic as prime minister, Dritan does not give up so easily. He asked all the ministers and Jokovic to support him. They say “let Dritan continue where he left off”.
Since Aleksa has given up, it remains to be seen which of the two best political buddies will become or remain prime minister. If they do not agree, their common boss from Belgrade will arbitrate.
From the meeting of the sovereignists (using this term due to the lack of a better name) with the ambassadors, there was nothing tangible that one could cling to. There was no one to articulate a position that is not some kind of general position about stability, the European future and the like.
While they are keeping us in the dark and behind the scenes they are arranging yet another ingenious solution, the only thing we know is that the deadline is 19 September, after which elections should be called, and after which we will surely enter the elections with this kind of government. That would be an ideal solution for everyone except DF and the Democrats. And the Spajic supporters.
Montenegro is Russia’s potential target
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during his visit to Kyiv today, promised a new security aid package worth $2bn. Approximately, $1bn will be allocated to Ukraine, and the rest would be divided between Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The money is intended for the defense of sovereignty, the modernization of the security forces, the strengthening of the partnership with NATO and the strengthening of the capacity to oppose Russian influence and aggression, said Blinken.
Dritan with cigarette smugglers?
Frivolity or corruption? Pictures and selfies with some criminals, persons of interest and controversial businessmen appear every now and then. Now Rasko Konjevic called him out for taking a picture with a certain Zdravko Kosanovic, whom he accused of being the real person behind the purchase of cigarettes, the seizure of which Abazovic was bragging about a few days ago. The manner in which the cigarettes were confiscated is interesting – how they were allowed to reach Serbia, to return to Montenegro and then allowed to leave the country.
Yesterday, in a statement for RTCG, Kosanovic denied that he had anything to do with the cigarettes.
Vesna Bratic refused the donation
The new primary school in Tolosi named Novka Ubovic, which was built as a donation from the Bemax company, with the support of the City of Podgorica, and whose construction cost around €7m, started working on 5 September, but – it is equipped with old furniture that was delivered from the Vladimir Nazor primary school.
Given that equipment for schools must meet certain standards, donors have repeatedly addressed the Ministry headed by Vesna Bratic in order to obtain guidelines for procurement, but they have never received any response. This was confirmed to the M portal by the Ministry of Education, which today is headed by Miomir Vojinovic.
Continuation of the clan war
While mutual accusations flare up in Montenegro that politicians are part of two clans, which have been in a war for almost a decade, which claimed a large number of lives, the leader of the Skaljari clan, Jovan Vukotic, was killed in Istanbul.
Vukotic was on the run, and Montenegrin judicial authorities issued a warrant for him a year ago. His name has been on the columns of the black chronicle for years, and members of the opposing Kavac clan tried to kill him several times.
