Good morning! CKM made a scandal with the campaign; the commission for the Fundamental Agreement was formed; Dritan Abazovic is at war with the newly formed portal; the forced administration in Budva is preparing to appoint Milo Bozovic as Carevic’s successor.

Roma in work suits
CKM – Montenegrin Cultural Network “pleases” us every now and then with some of its incidents. This time it wanted to include some folklore in the campaign against the divisions in Montenegro, so in the absence of costumes for the Roma people, it presented this Montenegrin ethnic community in the work suits of the municipal services utility. With this act, it provoked a plenty of reactions. Some reactions, starting with the Prime Minister’s URA, were reduced to a story like “here, we told you that there is Montenegrin nationalism”.
In this way, the CKM has given the advocates of the thesis about the destructive power of Montenegrin nationalism a wind at their backs, just as it has been given these days by some other internet activists who are forming their sixth party in an attempt, who are sharing Thompson’s songs on their social networks, as well as their bizarre views and ideas about how Montenegrin society should be shaped. Other reactions, which came from the so-called the Montenegrin side clearly shows how Montenegrins see these phenomena. As an example, I have chosen the PEN Center’s reaction.
What is being overlooked, intentionally of course, is that these are marginal phenomena in the so-called sovereignist bloc, and that activists and institutions that are recognized as protectors of Montenegrin interests in the public are often the targets of these phenomena. So, for example, you will witness that the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Culture (FCJK) was often the first target of CKM and the mentioned internet activists.
For such people, no one is Montenegrin enough, and if Montenegrin nationalism exists, then it should be sought at those addresses. If we agree that Montenegrin nationalists are CKM and something called a conservative party, then it is enough to compare their status within the Montenegrin bloc, and the status of Serbian nationalists within the parliamentary majority. In the first case, it is a group of marginals, in the second case, these are ministers, church organizations, powerful individuals and extremist organizations that even the Prime Minister attends celebrations with.
But let’s return to the Roma people, who have rightly felt anger. Let’s make it clear, there is nothing dishonest about cleaning the streets. It is a more honest and noble job than many people boast about today. But stereotyping members of the entire nation and ghettoizing one ethnic group contributes to the discrimination and stigmatization of Roma in society. Fortunately, many – primarily young Roma, with their work, manage to break down difficult barriers and open the way for their compatriots.
Agreement Review Team
Today, the Government should form a Commission that will check whether the Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) is in accordance with the Constitution of Montenegro. The candidates for the members of that Commission will be Velibor Markovic, Andrej Bracanovic, Bojan Bozvic, Aneta Spaic, Tea Gorjanc Prelevic and Ana Mugosa, portal RTCG has announced, citing unofficial information.
Appointing Velibor Markovic to such a Commission, whose homophobic and misogynistic views on social networks provoked fierce civil society actions, proves the Prime Minister’s affinities quite clearly. But, let’s take it easy. Those from civil society organizations who have been providing him with unconditional support all this time will also become aware of this.
Secondly, it is not clear to me with what purpose this Commission has been formed. The Serbian Orthodox Church has clearly said that the story is over for it, and the representatives of the Church of Serbia in Parliament say the same.
It is obviously about buying time, but it is not clear for what.
Abazovic at war with the newly formed portal
The newly formed portal has never caused as much noise as it is the case with M-Portal, whose editor is Danica Nikolic, who was a media adviser at DPS until recently. The Prime Minister accused the portal of working for the benefit of crime, which is something that the Prime Minister does to anyone who criticizes him, while the portal replied that it knew something about him. URA has announced to file lawsuits against those responsible in this media. Abazovic has never given anyone a better advertisement, which this new media has also confirmed.
Abazovic helps Carevic enthrone his heir?
In Budva, we all know that despite public criticism, there is an unusual DF-URA closeness. As the old Board of Trustees did not want to appoint Milo Bozovic as the deputy mayor, who would then become acting mayor when Carevic resigns, a new Board of Trustees was formed. It was approved by Minister Dukaj, and also includes Putin’s promoter Juskovic, and it will implement everything that DF has planned.
Budva Democrats reacted loudest: “The meeting of PM Dritan Abazovic and the mayor of Budva Marko Carevic at an obscure meeting at Bioce was the confirmation of a new coalition based on the market trade of the aforementioned actors who care about the public interest”. That party said that the current Government of Montenegro “has no intention of dealing with the unconstitutional and illegal behavior” of Carevic.
That’s it for today and this week. See you again on Monday.
Kind regards,
Ljubomir Filipovic, CdM analyst
