Ten to Eight – Seselj On A Mission

Good morning! Seselj continued to insult, now even more shamelessly and aggressively; after the New Year’s truce Abazovic and Mandic again tactically raise tensions in the ruling majority; there is another side to the story of the conflict among epidemiologists; the EU regrets the continuation of economic citizenship; looting and shooting everyday life in Montenegro.

Seselj on a mission

Vojislav Seselj is a nationalist clown, and he has always been. The man has only one role since the 1980s, and that is to raise tensions and provoke reactions from Serbia’s neighbors. Since he is no longer relevant enough in Serbia to be able to enter the parliament, on the wings of old glory and old merits in the region, every now and then he shocks the public with his statements. Seselj is a Greater Serbia nationalist of the old caliber, he has not yet learned new ways, so he does not know how to hide and disguise his misogyny.

This problem with Seselj shows another sad fact, and that is that we are deeply immersed in the Serbian World. Television production from Serbia has been dominating Montenegrin frequencies for a long time without any regulation. It is obvious that we have consumers for this product. But if these programs are a constant source of information pollution, then there must be a way to react to it.

Electronic Media Agency (AEM) says that it will react in accordance with the practice, taking into account the balance between the needs to allow freedom of speech, but also to limit it when it is used to spread hatred, which Seselj did in this case. At the same time, it is not clear why the AEM wants the “lay and political public” to stop pressuring it as an “independent regulatory body”. If they are independent in relation to the executive branch, they are not independent in relation to the public and citizens, but are accountable to them as a public institution. By the way, be it said, how much arrogance and lack of self-awareness fits into this “lay public”.

Renewal of hostilities

Abazovic has renewed his presence in the media and is aggressively raising roles on all sides. If he is bluffing, we will see soon. While there are rumors that due to the failure of the initiative on the minority government, but also the failure of the agreement on election laws in Bosnia, as well as the upcoming elections and protests in Serbia, Western officials are embarking on another round of regional tours, Abazovic, with the help of the favored regionally present Serbian media, places the narratives that suit him. Thus, in an interview for Nova yesterday, he discussed with it and misinformed the public together with it that Djukanovic announced his resignation from the position of DPS leader. He didn’t do it in public as far as I know. He praised the Open Balkans in tandem with Andrija Mandic. Dritan on Nova, Mandic on Pink, covered both the opposition and the ruling Serbia. He also announced the first session of the Prosecutorial Council and has already put political pressure on them to act in accordance with his political agenda.

What is important is that Abazovic fired another bouquet of poison darts at larger coalition partners, accusing them of trying to reshuffle the government in the blitzkrieg.

Andrija Mandic also spoke yesterday and said that Montenegro will get a new executive power this year. It’s as if anything is up to the Front.

CdM targeted by the Orthodox Church of Serbia

After CdM published an article titled “Joanikije fires priest Mitrovic, Minister’s brother” and clearly stated that it was taken over from another media, with a clear statement of the source, the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Orthodox Church of Serbia (MPC) reacted. However, the MPC did not deny the allegations from that text, but used the reaction to attack the CdM.

Galic fired Popovic Samardzic for criticism?

Milena Popovic Samardzic says that she was dismissed from the position of the head of the Department for Immuno-prophylaxis because she resisted the censorship introduced by the director of the Institute of Public Health, Igor Galic.

“The real reason for my dismissal was presented to me by the director of the Institute at our meeting and that is not the situation in Budva. As the director said, I violated the procedures because I was a guest on the Vijesti TV morning show without his consent and expressed criticism and opinion that I expressed a few days earlier at the working group, as he says, also without his consent”, said Popovic Samardzic.

EC regrets the continuation of the economic citizenship program

The European Commission regrets the decision of the Government of Montenegro to extend the program of economic citizenship for another year, says the answer of the spokesperson of the Commission Ana Pisonero to the question of Radio Free Europe. I don’t know how much to trust Milan Knezevic, but the day before yesterday he expressed doubts that there are also corruption reasons for this government’s decision.

Goran Djurovic v RTCG

The process of selecting the representative of Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest will remain completely unnecessary in the shadow of the conflict of interest because the co-author of the selected composition Vladana Vucinic is employed at RTCG, said the director of the Media Center Goran Djurovic.

Djurovic is the husband of the political director of URA Ana Novakovic Djurovic, and in the commission that decided on Vucinic there was another official of URA, Gojko Berkuljan, so I think it is best for them to see what they will do and how they will do it on party bodies without poisoning the public with personal wars and animosities.

Rising crime

I don’t know what the statistics say, but someone should deal with the increasing number of cases of armed conflicts and robberies in Montenegro. It is true that the conflict between the clans has been lurking, but on the other hand, we witness every now and then that people take justice into their own hands, and that they are encouraged to commit crimes. After Rozaje, Niksic and Tivat, now there is a violent robbery in Pljevlja, and shootings in Berane.

That’s it for today. We wish you a pleasant rest of the day.

Kind regards,

Ljubomir Filipovic, CdM analyst
