Democrats and URA want to forcibly dismiss the president of the Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG). Although a new leadership was elected at the FSCG’s assembly yesterday, by interfering with the state and politics, the Democrats, with the help of URA, which controls inspection affairs through Abazovic’s friend Ilir Harasani, are trying to push their candidate, who is very close to Democrats. The mayor of Kotor, who once worked for sports associations in Serbia, also joined the game. Namely, Vladimir Jokic, through his illegal influence through the Bokelj football club, whose founder is the municipality, also tried to influence the holding of the meeting of the FSCG assembly and also tried to obstruct the election of Dejan Savicevic. The president of the 21. Maj Civic Initiative Council Miodrag Miko Zivkovic also reacted to the whole attempted “coup” within the FSCG.
State of Government
CEDEM conducted its regular summer poll of political public opinion and compared it to previous ones. Compared to September last year, the Government did not receive support. The opposition is not losing it. Democrats are growing at the expense of the DF, URA has lost 30% of support since September. Support for Montenegro’s independence is falling, as is support for NATO when compared to September enthusiasm. Aleksa Becic is the most popular politician. There is a large number of people who do not have an opinion on any issue, which may be what worries us the most.
The DF continues to quarrel with coalition partners, but their focus now shifts from the Prime Minister to the Democrats, who have grown at the expense of the DF members. If it is hard to trust Slaven Radunovic, and it is hard to trust such people, then now the Prime Minister is acceptable to the DF, only for them to enter the Government. It seems that Vucic gave the order to stabilize the Government in Montenegro.
Kosovo detainee
A Serbian Orthodox Church activist is sentenced to 30 days in detention, and protests were organized in Montenegro. Mirsad Bibovic, the former ambassador in Budapest, and now the new government-appointed charge d’affaires in Pristina, attended Jovanovic’s trial. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thus decided to ease the provocateur’s fear. The DF criticizes the Government for not acting strongly enough towards Kosovo, and Government MP Dobricanin, known for his shameful attitude during the attack on Mihailo Jovovic, is asking for the severance of relations with Kosovo and for the border to be closed. Milan Knezevic also announced a protest in front of the Kosovo Embassy in Podgorica.
Harassing Draginja
Social Democratic Party MP Draginja Vuksanovic Stankovic experienced discomfort yesterday at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, where she was searched despite having a diplomatic passport. Vuksanovic Stankovic confirmed for CdM that she was detained for more than an hour. Both the Government and the opposition reacted. MP Vuksanovic Stankovic received the support from the Parliament Speaker, my colleague Jelusic from URA, as well as Predrag Boskovic, but also from former party colleagues from the SD.
Purge in healthcare system
After CdM was the first to publish that Minister of Health Jelena Borovinic Bojovic continues to cut staff, she officially did it the day before yesterday. She dismissed doctor Sonja Radojicic, the director of the Danilo I General Hospital in Cetinje, and to that position appointed as the acting director doctor Vladimir Pavicevic, a specialist otorhinolaryngologist, who is a Democrat’s candidate. Instead of Petar Abramovic, she appointed doctor Aleksandar Macic, a specialist psychiatrist and a DF’s candidate, as the director of the Dobrota Special Hospital. The director of the Danilovgrad Health Center, doctor Dejan Mandic, was dismissed, and Todor Tomasevic was appointed in his place. The Minister’s team was also abandoned by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health and her first associate Borko Bajic, who resigned from that position.
