Ten to Eight – You Can’t Fight Crime with Crime

Good morning! The Prime Minister is without specific answers about encrypted phones, the Prosecutor’s Office protects him; fires raging; politicians quarrelling; Bosko Obradovic and BS would like to seize the territory of Montenegro and unite Serbs; Daka and the roof workers are waiting.

You can’t fight crime with crime

Yesterday, the Prime Minister was still reluctantly answering where he got the encrypted phone from. He does not want to specifically answer whether it was Bozo Milonjic who gave it to him. If that is the case, and if Milonjic really acted on his own initiative when he acquired the phones and “cleaned the ANB”, then the Prosecutor’s Office is right when it defends Abazovic. Otherwise, it is his instrument in the political struggle. Because neither it nor the government give us answers to questions, but open new ones. Why was Bozo Milonjic dismissed? Why was he not prosecuted if he acted by himself?

Why doesn’t the Prime Minister tell us who that one man is who is threatening him and who he is going to arrest? Why doesn’t he arrest him? Is he blackmailing someone like that until next Friday? If the Prime Minister is really in danger, the whole country should be alerted and put on its feet. We all have a duty to prevent anything from happening to him. If it’s panic-mongering to divert attention from serious issues that cast doubt on his anti-corruption agenda, then we have a duty to deal with that as well.

Brave firefighters and miserable politicians

The fight between firefighters and fire in Boka and Bar has been going on for days. We heard wonderful stories of sacrifice and solidarity. Images of firefighters sleeping on benches, priest Zeljko Paskovic a volunteer firefighter, are just some of the stories that restore our faith in society. We are also learning about the volunteer fire brigades that we inherited from Austro-Hungary. We watch and learn lessons from patriotism, the best and the most beautiful one.

While the firefighters are fighting with this, the politicians are fighting over who is to blame. Now Europe’s leader Milojko Spajic accuses the government of incompetence and inability to fight fires, Djurovic and Adzic respond to him on Twitter naming him as the culprit who, as finance minister, blocked the equipping of the Ministry of the Interior unit with helicopters.

Abazovic was to meet with the firefighters in Boka, and from there he sent a message that he will get helicopters, only if he is not removed from power on Friday.

Sanctioning tourists

When I officially proposed to the Government to deal with the sanctions policy against persons primarily from Serbia, who threaten Montenegrin independence and stability with their public and business activities, I had in mind precisely such incidents as with Bosko Obradovic, who freely walks in Montenegro and promotes the shutdown of our state, or for members of the right-wing rap band Belgrade Union, who, from Herceg Novi, declare parts of Montenegro to be Serbian territory. If there was a serious state, they would be prohibited from entering Montenegro, and in cases where it is proven that they were actively and secretly working to achieve these goals, all their assets here would be confiscated and frozen.

Daka and steelworkers on hold

The steelworks workers are on the roof again, but this time the Prime Minister did not leave Boka urgently to prevent them from jumping. The Prime Minister has no answer to the growing appetites of Davidovic, who, as we have just heard, wants both a quarry and a reservoir. This is the only profitable way for him to take over the steelworks. On the other hand, Dritan is silent and ignores this. And maybe he’s just busy. Next week is crucial.

That’s it for today and this week. See you again on Monday.

Kind regards,

Ljubomir Filipovic, CdM analyst
