The biggest deposit in Montenegrin banks amounts to almost €60 million, and it’s on the account of a legal person – a non-resident, the Central Bank of Montenegro told the public TV station.
“According to monthly data on the 50 largest depositors that banks submitted to the Central Bank of Montenegro on March 31, 2024, the largest deposit amounts to €58.8 million, and it is a legal person – a non-resident,” the CBCG announced.
On the other hand, citizens of Montenegrin and foreigners keep nearly €2.7 billion in our banks.
“According to the latest available preliminary data until March 31, 2024, that banks sent to the Central Bank of Montenegro, citizens’ deposits amount to two billion and 687.8 million euros, or 50.40% of the total deposits in the system,” the CBCG stated.
As they noted, compared to the same period in 2023, when deposits amounted to two billion and 503 million euros, citizens’ deposits rose by €184.7 million, that is, 7.38%.
