The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs told Pobjeda, a daily, they still don’t know whether the construction costs for the motorway’s priority section would increase. The Ministry also informed this daily that the contract on projecting and construction of the priority section (Smokovac-Uvač-Mateševo) said there was a possibility of sharp rise in construction costs (up to 10%).
The motorway construction will cost the state €809 million, which means that it might be increased by €80.9 million.
The Ministry reported: “The costs might increase in case there’s a need for some changes, which is nothing unusual when it comes to such a large volume of work.” The Ministry also underlined that the procedure of defining the unpredictable construction works has been clearly determined through contract clauses.
